Is Chronic Pain Stopping You From Living Your Life?

Living with chronic pain can seriously make you feel like you’re only living 50% of the time.

You feel like you’re missing out on everything…

Your goals, dreams, and desires.

I know how that feels because I lived it for 7 years before breaking free.

And this morning as I was sitting in my balcony finishing up my morning routine…

I started reflecting a bit on my life choices. And I thought about how a few years back I was sitting in the same spot going through my morning routine before heading to my job.

I realized that… all of those things that I wanted to create back then… better health, healing from my chronic pain conditions, starting my coaching business… have been achieved.

And I want to share with you an important message. What I’m about to say was the #1 thing that helped me achieve all my goals and dreams.

Is Chronic Pain Stopping You From Living Your Life?

Listen, don’t wait until you are pain-free to start living your dreams, to start planning for your goals.

Listen, just take that first step.

Because if you keep waiting, it’s never going to happen.

You have to make that first step, even though it seems impossible to do. Because each step will bring you closer and closer to your goals.

And that sends a message to the subconscious mind that you are doing it no matter what. And that will help you achieve that goal in the end.

Believe me. like I do understand how much pain you’re in right now.

When I was diagnosed with piriformis syndrome, disc herniation, and ankylosing spondylitis, I was constantly in pain.

I didn’t even know where to start.

I had so many things going on that it seemed like I would never get better because I didn’t know what to focus on.

Like, what do I focus on right now? What do I do?

I’m going from one Doctor to the next, each one giving me a different opinion. Then this therapist gives me another different opinion.

Nobody really knows anything. Everybody’s guessing.

And here I am…completely lost in between all these opinions. It was just chaos.

My boss, my friends, and my family all think I’m just making it look worse than it really is. I fell into a very deep depression for a while.

My Dream To Become A Strength Coach

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been passionate about health and fitness.

I’ve always worked out! I would go to the gym and just do what I can.

After I graduated from university, I really wanted to become a coach and specifically, a strength coach.

Strength coaches are very focused on athletic training, injury prevention, functional training. And I’ve always loved learning about all that stuff.

When I looked at the course details, I knew I would have to practice which included lifting heavy weights, practicing a lot of plyometrics, etc.

Which of course all sounded impossible for me.

I was struggling to go for a walk… I couldn’t even function around the house, let alone workout with athletes and lift heavy weights on top of that.

But you know what… I went ahead and signed up!

There was a very sure thing in my head those whole years I was living with chronic pain. And you know what that is?

I never ever believed that I was going to be with the pain forever.

And that’s the most important belief you need to have.

  • you have to believe that you will heal…
  • You have to believe that your body is recovering…
  • And no matter what other people tell you, don’t ever let go of that belief.

My First and Last Visit To The Rheumatologist

I remember seeing a rheumatologist who diagnosed me with ankylosing spondylitis (a spinal arthritis condition). She said that this is an autoimmune condition that was irreversible.

She said all we can do is take immune-suppressing drugs to slow the process down otherwise I’ll be in pain all the time.

And if I don’t?

Well, I’m going to have constant flare-ups and ongoing inflammation. In the end, my hips and my discs will fuse up and I will end up in a wheelchair…unable to move because I will lose all mobility and flexibility.

So that was literally what she told me. I was 23 years old.

When I left her office. In my head, there was only ONE dominant thought.

No way. That’s not me. I’m not gonna end up like that.

I did not see myself in a wheelchair.

A lot of people would have easily believed that start to identify with the illness.

Unfortunately, it’s easy to start feeling like a victim when you have a chronic illness. Especially because everyone treats you differently.

I did not want that At one point, I even asked my family to stop asking me how I’m feeling with the pain because I did not want to identify with it anymore.

Back to when I signed up for the course…

So I started going to the practical classes and it was really, really, bad.

Everybody is lifting weights. And I’m just standing in a corner like an idiot.

Everyone is jumping and running around… And I’m just like, I can’t even sit, the chair makes my piriformis and hips spasm really bad.

Some people just assumed I had an injury because I was also limping…

So I would just skip a few things and do what I can.

So I’m just standing there, learning as much as I can. And not giving up on my dream.

I wanted to become a strength coach so badly.

I had no idea how it was going to happen.

But I’m there.

The pain didn’t stop me from learning and studying.

Life After Chronic Pain

And you know, I’m 100% positive that if I didn’t register for a course, I wouldn’t be here today.

When I started learning, I got so obsessed and I started reading and studying everything.

From one textbook to the next…one course to the next.

It was complete obsession…a 24/7 thing.

I would wake up and start listening to audiobooks,

Everything I can learn about the nervous system, the muscular system, the brain and body connection, neuroplasticity.

That one course exposed me to so many other things that I ended up learning so much about my body and took control of my healing which ultimately helped me get pain-free.

If I did not take that first step and didn’t follow my heart, I wouldn’t have come to this point now.

I not only became a strength coach but I also started my online coaching business and registered for another advanced course to become a corrective exercise specialist.

And it all started with making one decision. To go ahead and sign up on that page despite everybody around me not believing I can do it.

So whatever it is that you want to pursue right now… a career, or hobby.

Maybe you wish you could do a bodybuilding competition (hey, don’t roll your eyes haha), or maybe you want to run a marathon… or maybe you want to climb a mountain.

Just write it down.

I would literally write down exactly what I want to do and…

…exactly how I was going to show up everyday…

… and exactly how I wanted my body to feel every single day…

Your Next Step…

Describe how you want to feel every day…

What do you want to do…

Visualize it.

I visualized my perfect day every single day, and believe me, it works!

By the way, I show you step-by-step how I visualize and script my perfect health and life inside the mind-Body Healing Program.

But you have to believe it.

If you don’t believe in your ability to hear or visualization, don’t even bother trying.

So make that first step. Don’t let the pain stop you no matter how much pain you are in right now.

Maybe you can research more about it.

Maybe you can read books about that topic you’re passionate about…

The pain doesn’t stop you learn from learning and reading books and planning for what’s to come.

Because you believe in your heart that you’re not going to live with this game forever.
